    Sepass Poems, Ancient Songs of Y-Ail-Mihth

    The Sepass Poems are ancient and date to a time, long before Europeans arrived in North America. The poems were translated from the Halq’eméylem language into English over a 4-year period, between 1911 and 1915 and represent the only work of ‘classic’ Halq’eméylem literature-in-translation.     Sepass Poems Glossary

    Stay tuned for the date of release happening soon. Available as an audio CD, the words-by-poem follow the order of the Halq’eméylem words as they appear in the book. The student will hear the word four times during which they will repeat it twice.

    The audio recordings of Sepass Poems are also being brought out in the oral tradition set with traditional Coast Salish drumming and song. They will also include a brief description of each storyline before the reading of the poem. The release date of the poems recording is anticipated for sometime in November 2010
